Nature for Climate

Through the England Peat Action Plan, the UK Government intends to invest over £50 million in peatland restoration as part of the Nature for Climate Fund (NfC). This will enable the restoration of least 35,000 ha of peatland by 2025. We have 34 sites funded through NfC with 2,926 ha currently under restoration management.

Peatland Practitioner LANTRA

The programme has been developed by Yorkshire Peat Partnership (YPP), which is a LANTRA Approved Customised Provision Provider. This course will aim to expand and diversify your knowledge and skillsets in peatland restoration and management, with a focus on upland blanket bog habitat.

Pennine PeatLIFE

The Pennine PeatLIFE project began in 2017 with an aim to restore damaged peatlands across the protected landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines, Forest of Bowland and Nidderdale National Landscapes.

Tees Swale: Naturally Connected

Tees-Swale: Naturally Connected is a unique collaboration between the North Pennines National Landscape Partnership and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority across  845 km2. The £8.5million programme is largely funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. YPP is restoring 500 ha of peatland under this project.
